The recruitment is being conducted for the grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army. Selected candidates will undergo pre-commissioning training and will be commissioned in the rank of Lieutenant after successful completion of training.

Post Details and Vacancies

The post offered under this recruitment is Short Service Commission (Technical) – 67th Course (Men). A total of 350 vacancies are available across multiple engineering streams including Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical and other miscellaneous engineering disciplines. Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech degree in the notified engineering streams from a recognized university or institution approved under UGC, AICTE, IIT Act, NIT Act or IIIT Act.

Final year engineering students are also eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of passing the engineering degree examination along with all semester marksheets by 01 October 2026 and produce the degree certificate within twelve weeks from the commencement of training.

Candidates who have completed graduation from foreign universities are not eligible to apply. Only the exact engineering streams notified in the official notification will be accepted.

Nationality and Marital Status

Applicants must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible. Candidates are not permitted to marry during the training period. Marriage during training will lead to discharge from service.

Age Limit

The age of the candidate must be between 20 and 27 years as on 01 October 2026. Candidates must be born between 01 October 1999 and 30 September 2006, both dates inclusive. The date of birth mentioned in the Matriculation certificate will be considered final.

Physical Standards

Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards, which include a 2.4 km run in 10 minutes 30 seconds, push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, squats, lunges and basic swimming skills. Physical fitness is an essential requirement for selection.

Salary and Allowances

During the training period, candidates will receive a stipend of ₹56,100 per month as per Level-10 of the Pay Matrix. After commissioning, officers will be entitled to pay and allowances as per rank.

The pay structure starts from Lieutenant and goes up to Chief of Army Staff, with salaries ranging from ₹56,100 to ₹2,50,000 per month. In addition to basic pay, officers are entitled to Military Service Pay, Dearness Allowance, Technical Allowance, Transport Allowance, Dress Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Field Area Allowance and other admissible benefits.

The approximate annual CTC is around ₹17–18 lakh, excluding free medical facilities and travel concessions.

Important Dates

The online application process will begin on 07 January 2026 at 1500 hours and will close on 05 February 2026 at 1500 hours. The cut-off percentage for shortlisting is expected to be published in the first week of March 2026. SSB interviews are likely to be conducted between April and June 2026. Training is scheduled to commence in October 2026.

Selection Process

The selection process involves multiple stages. Initially, candidates must apply online through the official website. Applications will be shortlisted based on cumulative academic percentage. Shortlisted candidates will be allotted SSB interview centres.

The SSB interview is conducted in two stages over a maximum of five days. Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination. A final merit list will be prepared based on SSB performance, medical fitness and availability of vacancies. Mere qualification in SSB does not guarantee final selection.

Training and Commission Details

Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of training at the Officers Training Academy. On successful completion, candidates will be granted Short Service Commission in the rank of Lieutenant. Officers will be liable to serve for a period of ten years, which may be extended by four more years based on eligibility and organizational requirements.

There is an option to apply for Permanent Commission in the tenth year of service, subject to suitability and vacancies.

All personal, educational and communication details must be filled carefully before final submission. Candidates should keep a printout of the application for future reference.

Documents Required for SSB Interview

Candidates must carry a signed application printout, passport-size photographs, Matriculation certificate, 12th certificate, engineering degree or provisional certificate, semester-wise marksheets, CGPA conversion certificate if applicable, final year declaration (if applicable) and all original documents for verification. Digital certificates will not be accepted.

Important Instructions

Only one online application is permitted. Multiple applications will lead to cancellation. No changes are allowed after submission. Candidates must ensure that their personal details exactly match their Matriculation certificate. No offline applications will be accepted, and no hard copy needs to be sent to the recruiting authority.
